We partnered with New Hall School to design and build two bespoke cabins and refurbish two existing cabins around the school’s lake, creating high-quality staff accommodation. This project was completed over 16 months, with a great deal of planning to overcome logistical challenges.
Scope of Works
- Design & Energy Efficiency Build: Developed initial designs and ensured sustainability measures were integrated.
- Site Preparation & Civil Works: Executed groundwork, substructure, and superstructure for the buildings.
- Liaison & Compliance: Worked closely with Building Control and service providers (UK Network Power) to ensure seamless integration of utilities and regulatory compliance.
Key Challenges & Solutions
- Remote Location: With the nearest road over 100m away, we coordinated early installation of essential infrastructure, including a new access road, drainage, and soakaways.
- Lakeside Construction: Collaborated with structural engineers and foundation specialists to ensure stability, incorporating regular inspections and meetings to maintain project integrity.
- Strict Programme Deadlines: Efficient planning and proactive management ensured timely delivery, minimizing delays and maximising quality.
Outcome
This project stands as a testament to our ability to deliver complex, high-quality builds in challenging environments. Achieving 99% defect-free completion, 98% safety inspection satisfaction, and 100% customer approval, the Cabin development highlights our expertise in bespoke construction and energy-efficient design.
